Low or high pH levels affect the availability of the minerals required by the plant. The correct pH range for hydroponics is between 5.5 and 6.5, for soil it is not so critical, but generally around 6.3; outside of these figures nutrient problems will quickly occur as minerals become insoluble. Growth Technology Conductivity Standard – 250ml
EC meters should be calibrated regularly. Conductivity Standard is a solution with a known, fixed conductivity (EC), it is used for calibrating and maintaining the accuracy of your meter.
Please follow the instructions that come with you EC meter and always rinse the porbe after use to maximise accuracy and life of your device.
Just pour out what you need into a measuring cup, and use this to calibrate your pH meter. After calibration you must discard the used solution. Do NOT pour back into the bottle as this may contaminate the bottle and make the solution inaccurate.
